[edit] Digital television

Because it was granted an original construction permit after the FCC finalized the DTV allotment plan on April 21, 1997 [1], the station did not receive a companion channel for a digital television station. Instead, on or before February 17, 2009, which is the end of the digital TV conversion period for full-service stations, KBLN will be required to turn off its analog signal and turn on its digital signal (called a "flash-cut"). Full Power Station

KBLN has plans to purchase a full power station in Roseburg and a low-powered repeater station in Eugene, to expand coverage to more than 500,000 viewers in the Eugene market. It is currently unknown if KBLN will acquire an existing station, or a permit for a still-unbuilt station. [2]
