this dude looks like Reno from Final fantasy Advent children :3

Two things: 1. I thought his weapon in the book was an Ingram? 2. Izumi Kanai's role related to the gang is sort of interesting - in the book, she was brought along for sexin' and served no other purpose, right? Whereas in the movie, she was assumed to be in the gang, and was even one of the more vocal members. (Oh, and on a related note, I'm a little irritated that Kazuo's betrayal of Mitsuru Numai wasn't in the movie. It's a pretty good character development. Sucks that in the movie he was essentially a 1-dimensional character.)

A bit of a correction here, Izumi Kanai was not brought along in the novel. She just happened to be on the beach. Kiriyama massacred the others because he wanted their weapons (as his own stabbing weapon, can't exactly remember what it was, wasn't good enough), and her because she was there anyway. And I think you are giving Kazuo too much personality in the movie. 1-dimensional is almost too much. I mean, he says nothing, has no past, no thoughts, nothing. All he has is a sub-machine gun and a killing streak. He is pretty annoying in the movie. Exerci 23:30, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

He's not annoying in my opinion. My favorite character, actually.71.51.9.205 21:44, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
