The Kazakhstan national rugby union team is nicknamed the Nomads. It is controlled by the Kazakhstan Rugby Union and represents Kazakhstan in the sport of Rugby Union.

In 2007 they won all five of their matches and rose 14 places in the IRB World Rankings to 32nd, a bigger rise than any other team[1].

In 2008 Kazakhstan is participating in the inaugural Asian Five Nations.

From June 5 - June 25, 2005, Kazakhstan defeated Guam, India and Malaysia to finish top of Pool B, Division 3.

They then defeated Sri Lanka 25-19 in Kazakhstan before losing the match in Colombo, Sri Lanka 24-12. This eliminated them from the 2007 World Cup.

Irish player Luke O'Callaghan plays for the Kazakhstan team, and put together material for a television documentary of his experiences which was shown on Setanta Sports.
