KAZ (factory)

KAZ (Russian: Кутаисский Автомобильный Завод (КАЗ)/ Kutaisskij Avtomobilnyj Zavod) is a Soviet truck factory located in Kutaisi, Georgia. The factory was named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze.

Construction of KAZ factory started in 1945. First truck ZIS-150 was assembled by KAZ on August 18, 1951.

Perestroika in USSR and Georgian independence led to de facto closure of the factory in 1991.
