Category talk:Kazakhstani people
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Continued from the previous Cfr discussion: Since Kazakhs account for 53% of the population of the present-day Kazakhstan (30% are Russians, according to demographics of Kazakhstan), and there's over a million of Kazakhs residing in Xinjiang, PRC, and more than 0.7 million in Uzbekistan (see demographics of Uzbekistan), there are Kazakhs who are not Kazakhstanis, and vice versa. Therefore I would like to propose to keep two separate categories, one for people of the ethnic group, and one for citizens of the country. — Instantnood 18:20, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
- I left Category:Kazakh people as a soft redirect for now, instead of deleting it. I think you may want to invite anyone who participated in the Cfd to the disucssion to explain what articles you may think will fit there. ∞Who?¿? 05:35, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks so much Who. Actually I guess the category for members of the ethnic group can be created straight away. If there's no strong objection, or opinion suggesting category:Kazakhs should be preferred, I am going to make the bold edit to category:Kazakh people, to add an intro stating it's a category for the ethnic group. — Instantnood 21:32, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
