Kay Kay Menon is an Indian actor.
Menon was raised in Ambarnath & Pune, Maharashtra and graduated as an MBA (Marketing) from the B-School PUMBA[1] (DMS, Pune University). He started his career in theatre productions which gradually moved to television acting and finally film acting. He made his film debut with Naseem (1995), followed by Bhopal Express.
Menon was first noticed by many in Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi where he was greatly appreciated with fellow newcomers Shiney Ahuja and Chitrangada Singh. He starred in Deewaar (2004) with Amitabh Bachchan. The film was a flop but his performance was appreciated [2]. He became a known name after he starred as Bachchan's son in Sarkar (2005). The film was a box office hit and his role as a hot-tempered son was praised [3].
In 2006, he starred in Corporate. The film was a failure but he received much acclaim for his performance. His performance as the anguished DCP Rakesh Maria in the movie Black Friday has been widely appreciated and acclaimed. The movie, based on the book by journalist S Hussain Zaidi on the 1993 Bombay Bomb Blasts was awaiting an Indian release for almost 2 years before its final release on 9th February 2007. It was featured at the Locarno film festival and received widespread praise. Kay Kay Menon's portrayal on the honest but human cop (when checking the house of the accused, he spots bananas in the refrigerator and promptly picks one up to eat, since he hasn't eaten well that day. However seeing the look of the accompanying constable, he tells him,"you can take some too.. theres more in the fridge".) The Sunday Edition of the Indian Express described his performance as
"Excellent as always".
The latest release is Life in a... Metro with Shilpa Shetty
He is married to TV actress Nivedita Bhattacharya whom he met during his theatre days.
