[edit] 2007 model?
Why is the 2007 data still TBD? Are the 2007 year zx-6r bikes not in production yet? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.107.0.73 (talk) 04:21, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] specs?
Let's get some specs in a tabular format, similar to specs on some of the automobile pages.
Someone sabotaged this article. I removed this: "It was introduced in 1997 and has been constantly downgraded throughout the years in response to bending over for Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha. The ZX can not compare to the CBR or the R6. The ZX series is what was known as the failure line of Kawasaki motorcycles in the 1980's and still carries the moniker today."
Real mature. <___< Needs to be reworked, I don't know what the original text said. Xeokym 22:45, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] dry vs. wet weight
Something that's been bothering me about motorcycle specs ...
For 2006 the article specifies dry weight of 362 lbs, Sport Rider magazine measures wet weight of 431 lbs. The difference is 69 lbs.
By definition, wet weight should be equal to dry weight + full tank of gas + all other consumables ( engine oil, coolant ). Full tank of gas on a ZX-6R is 28 lbs. A little under one gallon of motor oil - 7 lbs. Coolant - can't find any hard data for ZX-6R, but similar bikes have around one gallon - 8 lbs. Maybe 2 lbs of fork oil. Total of 45 lbs.
Where does the rest come from? We're more than 20 lbs short. Unless I missed something big, Kawasaki must be "cheating" in their definition of dry weight. And its not just Kawasaki - many sport bikes have 60-70 lbs differences between claimed dry weights and actual wet weights. --Itinerant1 00:08, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
