Is this the same person as Kawanabe Kyosai (Gyosai)? I see that there is no Wikipedia article under Kawanabe Kyosai; I have never heard of Shofu, though the dates, painting style, and biography sound quite similar if not identical. LordAmeth 14:41, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

While flavorful, the comment about his "eccentric behavior and high-flying imagination" isn't exactly encyclopedic. Can you quote this from somewhere? LordAmeth 13:58, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- you're right, although attributes like "eccentric" (奇矯) and "rebellious" (反骨) are almost "standard" epithets applied to him. I'll try to look for some significant source...--K.C. Tang 06:53, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
