Kawauchi, Aomori

This article is about the former town in Aomori. Kawauchi also was the name of a town in Ehime, see Kawauchi, Ehime (now part of the city of Tōon, Ehime), and is the name of a village in Fukushima, see Kawauchi, Fukushima.
Kawauchi (川内町 Kawauchi-machi?) was a town located in Shimokita District, Aomori, Japan. The town was founded in 1889 from the merger of four villages:
- Kawauchi
- Hinokigawa
- Shukunohe
- Kakizaki
On March 14, 2005 Kawauchi merged into the city of Mutsu.
As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 5,359 and a density of 16.56 persons per km². The total area was 323.67 km².
