Kawabe District, Akita

Kawabe (河辺郡; -gun) was a district located in Akita, Japan.
As of 2003 (before merging), the district had an estimated population of 18,264 and a density of 40.99 persons per km². The total area was 445.57 km².
There were two towns left before the district dissolved.
As of January 11, 2005 these two towns merged with the city of Akita (roughly doubling the city's size) and no longer exists.

- April 1, 1948-The district acquired the village of Taishodera from Yuri District.
- January 11, 2005-The remaining towns listed above merged into the city of Akita. Kawabe District is no longer exist.
