Kawa no nagare no yō ni

Kawa no nagare no yō ni (川の流れのように, As the river flows) is the last single recorded by Japanese enka singer Hibari Misora. It was composed by Akira Mitake, with lyrics by Yasushi Akimoto. Voted #1 in a 1997 NHK poll of the best Japanese songs of all time, it is arguably her most famous song.

Hibari Misora died June 24, 1989, soon after its release.

Released on January 11, 1989 on Japan's Columbia Music label, the single has sold more than 1,500,000 copies. An updated arrangement, along with the original version, was released in Japan on March 21, 2000 as "Kawa no nagare no yō ni 2000."
