KAVL (610 AM) is a sports radio station broadcasting from Lancaster, California owned by Clear Channel Communications and is branded Fox Sports 610.

It has a directional-east 4900 watt signal during the day and a directional-south 4000 watt signal during the night. During the daytime, the signal ranges from Lancaster to St. George, Utah. During the night, it ranges from California City to Orange County.

[edit] History

KAVL came on air as locally programmed Sports Radio 610. In 1998, Jacor Communications acquired the radio station along with KAVS and KYHT. KAVL was made as a simulcast of KXTA-AM, "XTRA Sports 1150," in Los Angeles, California. Some of KAVL's programming was simulcast on 1220 AM in Santa Clarita (today KHTS).

Sometime after the Jacor/Clear Channel merge, the simulcast ended; since then, KAVL's lineup consists nearly entirely of Fox Sports Radio programs. However, KAVL also airs the Bob & Tom morning show from Indianapolis.

Also on KAVL are radio broadcasts of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the National Football League (through Westwood One).
