I am a resident of New Zealand, and take my name from the gum-diggers who worked in New Zealand's kauri forests in the nineteenth century.
I am interested in developing the pages about my local area, and am currently (slowly!) working on a page about the Chelsea Sugar Refinery, which had a massive impact on the growth of Auckland's North Shore, yet has been strangely neglected by local wikipedians.
I don't spend very much time editing, but I hope my contributions will enhance the encyclopedia. If you are interested in these things, I would be very pleased to work with you: please introduce yourself.
[edit] Achievements
- Gum-digger. This page was a very small stub when I found it. I expanded it considerably, and it featured in the main page Did you know? section on 20 November 2007.
- Pompallier Mission. I created this new page about New Zealand's oldest industrial building. It featured in DYK on 26 November 2007.
