KAUS (1480 AM "Voice of Mower County") is a radio station that broadcasts a news and information format. Licensed to Austin, Minnesota, U.S., the station serves the Mower County area. The station is currently owned by Three Eagles Communications.

[edit] History

KAUS' transmitter site is adjacent to its studios south of Austin. It originally began broadcasting with the call letters of KAAL and housed the earliest incarnation of the television station known today as KAAL-TV (formerly KAUS-TV) in its rural Austin studios.

The radio station's notable personality is "Champagne" Duane Germaine whose tenure at the station has has surpassed all others. The station formerly broadcast a full-service format focusing exclusively on the rural area surrounding Austin and providing timely weather and crop market updates as well as local sports coverage but under the ownership of Three Eagles Communications, programming after the 2 PM hour is mainly syndicated fare including Bill O'Reilly's Radio Factor and Jim Bohannon.
