[edit] Sources for Maurice Fiennes

Hello. Good work on Maurice Fiennes, and thanks for the contribution. However, you did not provide any references or sources in the article. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a push to encourage editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. Can you list in the article any websites, books, or other sources that will allow people to verify the content in Maurice Fiennes? You can simply add links, preferably as inline citations, or see citation templates for different citation methods. Thanks! Shawnc 14:40, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] link to British

Hello, when you want to link to the article about something British, please do not link to British, as that is a disambiguation page (which nothing should be linked to). Instead link to the one of the options found on that page such as United Kingdom, Great Britain or British English by writing out [[United Kingdom|British]] or [[Great Britain|British]]. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Jlash.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Jlash.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:36, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Moyamba (Sierra Leone Parliament constituency)

A tag has been placed on Moyamba (Sierra Leone Parliament constituency) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] Referencing

Hi there. I see that you have done some excellent work on articles, but your referencing is not right. You need to add a section at the end of the article as I have done here in order for the references to show up. Also, you only need one [ ] for external links - as you can see on the Ella Koblo Gulama, the references have an extra [ ] in them as you have used [[.

Also, if you are using multiple references to the same source, you should use the following system:

  • The first time the reference is used, give it a name, i.e. <ref name=XX>[http://xxx
  • After this, you can just use the tag <ref name=XX /> rather than having to put the whole link and title in.

I converted the Albert Margai article in this edit, so now the references section looks like this rather than this.

Please don't let this deter you, as your work is otherwise very good! пﮟოьεԻ 57 23:58, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

PS. If you categorise an article on a person, you have to sort it by their surname. This is how to do it. Also, if you are creating any more articles about African politicians, you might want to link to the articles on elections (such as Sierra Leonean general election, 1973), even if they don't exist yet (I am going through doing all the non-existent ones at the moment). You can find a full set of templates with the link titles in here. пﮟოьεԻ 57 00:07, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
