I'm Katr67.[1] I write and edit stuff, much of which is under the purview of WikiProject Oregon. I have a deep curiosity about why people settle where they do and how settlements grow and fail, which leads me to do a lot of work on small towns, and subsequently to old buildings, former railroads, and lots of other history-related topics. My userpage isn't very pretty since I'd rather work on articles. If you're interested, I have some barnstars, edit counts, userboxes, philosophies, links, and handy editing tricks and tips, some of which I'm still revising and will link to eventually. If you're dying to know more, you can rummage around in my subpages. Watch your step in the sandbox. Questions? Complaints? See my FAQ.

Disclaimer: My posting to a project talk page does not necessarily mean I am a member of that project. If I do so, it is because I'm seeking the advice of people who might know more about a certain topic than I do. Currently I only belong to WikiProject Oregon and to WikiProject Spam (mostly as a supporter and occasional spam reporter--I am for the most part uninvolved in WP:WPSPAM policymaking, blacklisting or mass link deletion/reversion).

If I attempt to improve the grammar or syntax on an article you've edited, please realize that this is not an opinion about your worth as a human being but rather a desire to improve this encyclopedia. I believe the world will take the Wikipedia project seriously only if the writing is as professional as possible. I have worked as a professional copyeditor, so I do try to know what I’m talking about. If you think I'm out of line and it's not something we can work out by communicating on talk pages, feel free to discuss my actions in the appropriate venue, which you can determine by looking in Wikipedia:Dispute resolution. Even if I've upset you, please try to assume good faith and try really hard to remain civil and don't call me names. I'll try to do the same. I probably sound cranky a lot (copyeditors can be like that), but I really do want to help you. Happy editing!

I'm Katr67 at WikiMapia too. WikiMapia, a wiki that is inspired by (but not affiliated with) Wikipedia, is a very cool thing.
