[edit] Katy Islamic Association

Removed this section becasue it is in the "Greater Katy" page and this article is about Katy in general not gossip. This page contains basic info on Katy not local stories that are currently in the news.--Moose321 16:26, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Roger Clemens never spent any part of his youth in Katy! He is from Dayton Ohio and lived in Sugarland and attended Dulles High School and then he transfered to Spring Wooods High school. Clemens lived in Katy for a short time early in his career. What is this "Katyite" stuff? Only people from katy proper are "katyites". I have lived in Katy since 1972, in the burbs off Mason, and we have never refered to ourselves as "Katyites". Believe me I can tell you some stories about Katy vs Katy area.

I added a little information about the Old Katy (Katy Proper) and New Katy dichotomy. Old Katy lies more or less north of I-10. The opposite is true of New Katy, which lies more or less south of I-10 (and includes the relatively new Cinco Ranch neighborhoods and the Ken Lay YMCA). I've lived here for 8 years (give or take a few months), and anyone who moves here will eventually hear about the difference between the two areas. I just thought I'd let the Wikipedians know about it as well. :) -AvestanHamster

Good distinction! I live in the Katy "Area" myself. Added Forbidden Gardens info to keep the momentum going and because of my interest in Chinese culture. -- Sitearm | Talk 03:38, 2005 August 8 (UTC)

Removed reference to Roger Clemens. He was born in Dayton, Ohio. Cajunmagic 21:51, 23 September 2005 (UTC)

I added the Cane Island info, a little known fact of Katy's past. The previous unsigned comment was added by 199.59.33.130 on 15:07, 17 May 2006

Janeane Garofalo? I did not know that. --Clorox (talk) 03:47, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Oh, no, not Noah...

Could someone remove the reference to Noah McCullough? From all I know from going to Elementary School with him, he's a little right-wing nut who is actually quite normal...and not to mention annoying. --Clorox (talk) 22:29, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Katy in the news

It seems like this town is an uneducated racist hick town. Stettlerj 03:20, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Only an uninformed dumbass from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania would write something like that. The previous unsigned comment was added by 146.130.101.111 on 11:00, 10 January 2007

Stettlerj, it is not like that at all. Katy is just like any average suburb. --Clorox (talk) 00:31, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
You are ignorant. I personally live in Katy, Texas. The residents are quite liberal and condemn racism very quickly. I am often labeled as a racist against Muslims by non-Muslims even though one of my two closest friend is a Muslim. Do you want to know why? Because I wear boots and tuck my shirt in; like "dem der rednex an hilbilly folks". Liberals like you and many residents here are flat out ignorant. You base your opinion of the town on a episode of "The Daily Show". Can you say "naive". Katy is also a very educated town. for example at my High school 92% of the graduating seniors were accepted to college. Not to mention high standardized test scores (and my school is the a** end of the school district) (believe me... somebody can be ignorant and educated, if not then every intelligent person would be on the same side of everything).

[edit] Katy Islamic Association-Pig Races

I am going to add a section about the contreversial pig races, I am going to try to keep the posting fact-based, and I would ask editors to try to keep the POV to a minimum. Fsu23phd 13:35, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

After writing this section, it seems very verbose, I am considering creating a new page for this information. Opinions? If there is a consensus that it should be moved and I forget to do so by Friday, please have someone else move it, as I will be leaving for China for three weeks. Fsu23phd 15:28, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
Good Luck with trying to keep things unbiased...whenever racism is a topic you can really only trust a Libertarian, somebody who believe in both free opinion and free speech (not to imply that the ENITRE definition of a Libertarian), to remain unbiased.

Yeah this should be moved to the Greater Katy page. (5-30-07)
