[edit] date

What date should be listed for the floods? The date it started or a range. This dated the 6th [1] is the earliest source I found on google news -- Astrokey44|talk 06:36, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

The date it started and the range/period for which it lasted should both be listed. Tomertalk 03:52, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

yea they both should. the problem is many places just outside the town centre flooded before the river rose enough to be a danger to the town centre, the date from which the flood was officaly reported.

[edit] contradiction

on this page it is first stated that the town is named after the river, then that it is named after the daughter of an explorer. which is true? stuarts daughters name begins with a c not a k. prehaps the vally/ river was named after his daughter, then as the town evolved, the name stuck?

[edit] "Third largest"

The lead of the article says that Katherine is the third largest settlement in the Territory, which I also believed to be true. However, http://www.katherine.nt.gov.au/ notes Katherine as the fourth largest. So, which one's true? And if they've got it right, is Nhulunbuy 3rd largest? I can't think of any other contenders. – Riana 02:05, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
