[edit] Opening line
I dont understand the opening line: "Kat Fletcher is the current president of the UK National Union of Students, the first to stand on a united left slate on politics clearly to the left of Labour Students, who have held the position for most of the past twenty years."
Are you saying she's "to the left" of Mandy Telford? Is that possible? 199.172.169.17 07:45, 13 September 2005 (UTC)
- :) I believe it may just be possible. Whether she's still to the left of NOLS is a different question. Warofdreams 11:04, 13 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Removal of Right Wing Mentions
It is not widely accepted that Kat Fletcher has moved to the right - indeed only one political organisation has suggested this - ENS.
I have therefore amended this and referred to the recent BBC Question Time programme where she was far from right wing and spent half the show slagging off the Tories.
Thanks
'Slagging off the Tories' does not qualify somebody as being left wing.
Being a member of a political party which introduced tuition fees, declared war upon Iraq, is privatising publicly owned utilities and services, and refuses to repeal the anti-union laws does qualify somebody as being right wing. Lindsay40k 17:52, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notability?
Is Miss Fletcher really all that notable? She held office as leader of the NUS, however it seems rather apparent that her page is little more than a duplicate of information which could be held on the NUS page itself. --Breadandcheese 04:26, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- Being leader of the NUS makes her automatically notable imho. There certainly shouldn't be any shortage of reliable sources, which is the most important thing. Wiki is not paper! --kingboyk (talk) 14:26, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Marking Boycott Controversy
The "Marking Boycott Controversy" section as currently written isn't really about Ms Fletcher. It needs to be rewritten or removed. --kingboyk (talk) 14:27, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
