Katsuya Tahara

Katsuya Tahara (田原勝也 Tahara Katsuya?, born 10 September 1972) is a Japanese snowboarder. Generally, he is called Rio Tahara (ライオ田原 Raio Tahara?).

Rio is from Nagano Prefecture [1]. He was ranked Asian best player by ISF from 1998 to 2001 and recognized as one of the best player in Japan. He was good at Rodeo flip and Haakon flip[1].

Rio participated in X-Trail Jam 7 times and got prize of "Highest Air" at Quarter pipe in 2003(record:5.40m) and 2004(record:5.20m)[2].

He retired in 2008.
