Katra, Allahabad

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Katra is a locality/township of Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is the trader location for common people with a few retail stores, supported by a thriving vegetable market called sabzi mandi. It is a very densely congested market place where it can be difficult to commute because of domestic cows, elephants and pigs attempting to socialize with the local population. They tend to flock to eat remains of vegetable parts that customers discard. Recently, many vendors in the vegetable market were relocated because of legal issues over land right.
