Katie Agresta

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Katie Agresta is one of the most professionally renowned singing coaches and vocal trainers in America. Having mentored both Tony Award and Grammy Award winners, Katie continues to coach some of the most famous contemporary performers of our day. Her extensive repertoire ranges from super bands (like Bon Jovi, Aerosmith and the Dave Matthews Band) to Broadway musicals (including Jersey Boys, Jesus Christ Superstar and Les Miserables). Hailed by CNN as a true "Master" of her craft, Katie has also appeared on numerous television and radio broadcasts, while her literary works on the subject of voice training continue to be cited for their expertise, subtlety and overall depth of knowledge.

Born into a family of musicians, Katie first fell in love with music at the tender age of five when she began taking piano lessons at her parents' music store. It wasn't long after that she began to sing as well, a talent quickly recognized by family and friends. By age 15, this talent had earned her notable distinction as church soloist within the local community. Katie would later go on to college, studying music at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY, where she earned her BA, and apprenticing under some of the greatest vocal trainers of the day.
