Kathy Lutz (October 13, 1946 – August 17, 2004) lived with her husband George Lutz and her three children, Danny, Christopher, and Missy, for 28 days at 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, New York. Their experiences lay the foundation for the book The Amityville Horror. The couple were divorced in the late 1980s, but remained on good terms. Kathy Lutz died on August 17, 2004 in Scottsdale, Arizona due to emphysema.
