Katherine Milhous (1894-1977) was a newspaper illustrator and book designer. Milhous won the 1951 Caldecott Award for The Egg Tree about her family's Easter traditions. She illustrated The Silver Pencil by Alice Dalgliesh which won the 1945 Newbery Honor. Milhous was born in Philadelphia.
