From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Katherine Grant of Rothiemurchus, 12th Countess of Dysart (born 1 June 1918) is a Scottish peeress.

[edit] Titles and style

She styled herself as Lady Katherine Grant of Rothiemurchus before coming to the Earldom in 2003 [1]. She was born as Lady Katherine Greaves, daughter of Wenefryde Agatha Scott Greaves (1889-1975) the 10th Countess of Dysart and Major Owain Edward Whitebread-Greaves. On the death of Lady Wenefryde, Lady Katherine's sister, Lady Rosamund Agnes (1914-2003) became the 11th Countess of Dysart, but never married or had issue, so in December 2003, Lady Katherine gained the titles of Countess of Dysart and Lady Huntingtower [2]. The Lordship of Huntingtower is the Scottish equivalent of an English barony. The Times of London has referred to her in print as Baroness Huntingtower [3].

[edit] Marriage and children

Her husband was Lieutenant-Colonel John Peter Grant (1915-1987) the 13th Laird of Rothiemurchus and the Sheriff of Inverness. Her son and heir apparent, John Peter Grant of Rothiemurchus, was born on 22 October 1946 and uses the courtesy title of Lord Huntingtower [4]. Lord Huntingtower owns the Rothiemurchus estate in the Highlands that is open to the public as an adverture and leisure park. Lady Dysart has one other child, Lady Jane Margery Buxton, born on 2 February 1943.
