Katharsis (song)

"Katharsis" is the first single released from Doda's first solo album, Diamond Bitch. The song has been very successful in Poland, where it peaked at #1 on the Polish Singles Chart, though it struggled to reach the top spot due to the strong popularity of "Umbrella" by Rihanna and Jay-Z.

Doda in the music video for "Katharsis"

The video starts with masked fire dancers waving their staffs, poi and giggling. Doda is shown blindfolded looking for a masked man (possibly Radek Majdan) in some kind of maze. As the scene changes, Doda is wearing only a white cloth and embances him in somekind of bed. While singing the chorus, she standing in a revealing top sorrounded by many lights. The first scene with Doda is shown again - the man catches her and takes of her blindfold, while she starts to undress him, and they kiss very passionatly. As the song continues, the dancers from the beginning start to laugh and Doda realizes that she is not alone. She wants to stop, but her lover grabs her and starts to seduce her again. Doda tries to embance him, but he pushes her away. Doda takes her pin out of her hair and throws it at the man, apparently killing him - his mask falls of. It is stained with blood, just as Doda's bedsheet in the end.
