Katerina Moutsatsou

Katerina Moutsatsou (born 1972 in Monterey, California, U.S.), also spelled "Muchachos" or "Moutsatsos", is a Greek American actress.
She studied in Paris and graduated from Paris III - Sorbonne University. She holds a Maitrise in Theater Arts And Acting and a D.E.A (the equivalent of a Masters degree) in Theater Arts.
Moutsatsou is also a dancer. After 10 years of classical ballet education in Athens (Royal Academy Of Dancing System – “Advanced” level), she joined choreographer Mia Frye's classes at the “Centre de Danse du Marais” in Paris for five years.
In the beginning of her acting career, Moutsatsou taught hip hop in Greece and choreographed videoclips for the boy-band 4-Play. Katerina has also worked briefly as a singer and has supported major Greek singers such as Anna Vissi and Sakis Rouvas. Her duet "Mia Fora" with composer and singer Dimitris Korgialas in 2004 was a huge hit and won two awards at the 2004 Mad Music Awards as the best duet and best rock song.
Moutsatsou has shared her life between Athens and Istanbul since 1998. She has become a popular figure for the Turkish public, appearing on the cover of more than 30 magazines in Greece and Turkey. She has had a regular role since the second season of Yabanci Damat.
She also took part in the series called Tutkunum Sana in 2006 in Turkey.
• Katerina's family, from both her father's and her mother's side, come from the Greek island of Aegina - an island close to Athens. Such proximity enabled her to spend a lot of time of her childhood years in the countryside and filled her with memories of this historical and beautiful island. Her grandmother one of eight brothers and sisters - a typically big Greek family - played a big role in her upbringing and her love for family roots and history.
• At the age of six, she attended the Lycée Français, a school which played a major role in her life, setting the foundations for her multi-cultural identity and her French upbringing.
• As a child, attending classical ballet classes and amateur troops of musical theatre for children, her talent and love for stage were discovered.
• In Paris, apart from her education at the Sorbonne, she was able to live and experience the Parisian arts scene, attending innumerable extra-curricular seminars and art workshops.
• Her western education and upbringing took a sharp twist as she stepped foot in Çeşme, Turkey, in September 1998, for the shootings of the film Kayikci. It was the start of a discovery, which is still going on, for her true identity as a Hellene, which combines both West and East. Katerina's dispositon is a mixture of Mediterranean charm, French finesse and subtle dynamism.

• She is fluent in French, English, Greek, Italian, Turkish and German, with an ability to pick up accents easily.
• She has just completed her first short film script. Inspired by the completion of her first translation (from Turkish into Greek) of the well-known Turkish play "Mikado Sticks", Katerina is currently writing her first theatre play.
• Katerina shares her life and career between Greece and Turkey, Athens and Istanbul since 1998, where she has become a popular figure for the Turkish public.
• Her hobbies include painting, interior design and sailing. She loves reading books on the history of nations, religions and philosophy, in particular on Byzantium and Ottoman era.
• She practices yoga where she believes she finds spiritual peace and inspiration.
