Kate Ross

Kate Ross (1956 - March 12, 1998), born Katherine Ross, was an American mystery author who wrote four books set in Regency-era England about dandy Julian Kestrel. The novels in the series are Cut to the Quick (1994), A Broken Vessel (1995), Whom the Gods Love (1996), and The Devil in Music (1998), which received an Agatha Award. The Lullaby Thief (1997), a short story featuring Kestrel, is included in the mystery anthology Crime Through Time, edited by Miriam Grace Monfredo and Sharan Newman. Ross was also a trial lawyer for the Boston law firm of Sullivan & Wooster and a graduate of Wellesley College and the Yale Law School. She died of cancer in 1998.
