Katherine "Kate" Brewster is a fictional character from the Terminator films. She is the wife of John Connor.

Kate Brewster is introduced in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003) and was played by Claire Danes. She is a veterinarian whose clinic is burglarized by John Connor looking for prescription painkillers. Her father is an Air Force General working on Skynet.

In the early dialogue of T3, Kate reveals that she has a past history with John in the events prior to Terminator 2, a teenage makeout session that might have led to a relationship. In later dialogue, the Terminator states that in the future, she is John Connor's wife.

The revelation of John's past and future relationships with Kate leads him to state that their meetings are not coincidence, but fate and that future events can be altered, but not avoided. John also finds that his life was pre-destined to intersect with Kate's father leading to Judgement Day. John's new outlook on the future is different from his mother, whose motto, and epitaph, "No fate but what you make" described a future that could be changed.

In Terminator 4, set in 2009, Kate is Connor's wife, and is played by Bryce Dallas Howard . The actress will be taking over the role exited by Claire Danes.
