Katastari

Katastari (Greek: Καταστάρι) is a settlement in the Alykes municipality of the Zakynthos prefecture of Greece (Longitude: 20° 45'24" E, Latitude: 37° 49' 39" N). It is located 16 kilometers southeast of Zakynthos City. In 1981, the population of Katastari was around 1097 inhabitants. In 1991, the population rose to around 1190 inhabitants.
Increasingly foreigners are buying property in this scenic village and making it their idyllic home. One of the first Greek's from abroad to return and build their dream home here in the early 1990's was Themis and Dina Scafidas, whose beautiful home Melissa is a village landmark that can be seen from the beach below.
