Katahigashi, Niigata

Katahigashi (潟東村; -mura) was a village located in Nishikanbara District, Niigata, Japan.
As of 2003, the village had an estimated population of 6,347 and a density of 264.90 persons per km². The total area was 23.96 km².
In March 2005, Katahigashi was absorbed by Niigata City. Starting April 1, 2007 it is part of the Nishi-ku ward.
