Kevin Standlee is an active participant in the affairs of the World Science Fiction Society. He has chaired the WSFS Business Meeting in 1995, 2002, 2003, 2006, and 2007. He is currently Chairman of the WSFS Mark Protection Committee and is a member of numerous other WSFS committees. He co-chaired ConJose, the 2002 Worldcon, and he was Fan Guest of Honor of Cascadiacon, the 2005 NASFiC. He also was one of the administrators of the Hugo Award in 1993, 1994, and 2002.

Besides his interest in science fiction, fantasy, and related subjects, Kevin has an interest in parliamentary procedure (useful when presiding over the Society's business meetings), and trains and rail transit, with an occasional foray into road-geekery.

Kevin lives in Fremont, California, spending extensive time in Mehama, Oregon where his wife, Lisa Hayes, helps care for her parents' property. Kevin works for Menlo Worldwide in San Mateo, California as a Logistics Solutions Engineer. Despite rumors to the contrary on account of his knowledge of parliamentary procedure and support of Canadian Worldcons and Westercons, Kevin is neither a lawyer nor a Canadian.

Kevin maintains a personal blog on LiveJournal.
