Kastania, Trikala

Kastania (Καστανιά) is a municipality in the Trikala Prefecture, Greece. Population 1,619 (2001).

The largest village in the region, presently called Dimos Kastaneas, is home to the bravest resistors to the Germans in the World War 2, and greatest benefactors of the Hellenism, the Vlachs.
