The Kasbah Nightclub (or Kasbah) is a popular nightclub in Primrose Hill Street, Hillfields, Coventry. It was formally called the Colosseum prior to refurbishment in 2007. It is known for showcasing up-and-coming bands in the local area. but also has played host to such bands as Arctic Monkeys, The Enemy, Hard Fi and Dirty Pretty Things. Big named touring acts play at the venue including Kate Nash, The Cribs, We Are Scientists, Supergrass, Reverend And The Makers and many more. Its maximum capacity is 1000, and it is one of the nine locations under the umbrella of the Bubbleluv chain of party nights.
There is no dress code to enter the nightclub, and fancy dress is often encouraged. Themed nights include:
- Monday - Poptastic - aimed at students. Features cheap drinks and a mix of music catered towards the student crowd.
- Friday - Get Kinky - local bands showcases as well as mainstream music played.
- Saturday - Groovy Garden - mainly indie music.
The nightclub closed on 17 September 2007 for a 10 week refurbishment, and reopened with a new name Kasbah Nightclub, having been previously called The Colosseum .
