Aubrey-Maturin series
- Hi, I got your message. The main article pages for each novel in the 21 book Aubrey-Maturin series are now complete - took me some time - so any contributions from your part would be welcome as there is a lot of work to do on this project! Ivankinsman 20:45, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Clover Hello, I got your message about Clover. I believe what you think I did as vandalism is what I actually removed from the page...I did not add anything, but did delete some slander at the top of the page that was obviously not relevant to the article. Maybe you're reading the edits wrong, and seeing my name associated with it for the deletion? Or, perhaps me hitting the back button unwillingly put the graffiti back in? I assure you, I did not post that. 70.116.18.139 (talk) 02:18, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply, take care. 70.116.18.139 (talk) 23:28, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] The Nine Tailors
Hi there. Thanks for your expansion of The Nine Tailors. I love that book for its description of atmosphere and place and the final denouement, but the plot confuses me every single time. Nice to have it explained better! Telsa (talk) 14:53, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Warning on Video games in the People's Republic of China
That's not fair. I didn't make any of the edits that you're accusing me of, and I certainly didn't vandalise anything. So get your facts straight before making false accusations, okay? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.101.16.225 (talk) 01:33, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
- You may not personally have made the edits I and other editors have issued warnings about on your talk page, but we all do have our facts straight - the edits came from the IP address 68.101.16.225. If you track down the edits in question and look up the contribution history of the IP address that made them, you will find them all listed there along with your own complaint on my talk page.
- If you are using or editing Wikipedia anonymously then you are identified by your computer's MAC address. If you are connected via a proxy server, or using a network with multiple machines or a public computer with multiple users, then you will be affected by any warnings or bans issued by administrators against that IP address. To avoid being identified with vandals sharing your IP address, please consider creating an account. == Karenjc (talk) 19:17, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Question
Hello Karenjc, I noticed you do quite a lot of vandal-fighting. Would you like me to grant your account rollback rights to aid you in your vandal-reverting? Acalamari 22:43, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hi and thank you. Yes, I would appreciate access to the rollback function, and would use it with caution. Karenjc 22:45, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- Granted. :) If you would like some practice with it before use in the mainspace, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 22:48, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] User Page
Hi,
I'm not sure how it's happening, but the “Userboxes” are overlapping onto the “User Toolbox” and messing up your user page when viewed in Firefox; Displays OK though in I.E…
Best wishes, --Badgernet (talk) 11:52, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks...
...for the reversion you did to my talk page - I hardly had time to notice the vandalism Fritzpoll (talk) 22:23, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
-
- thanks also for the work you do on helping with the new contributors page... and staying supportive even when dealing with contributors whose contributions aren't exactly welcome, like "to use Wikipedia to air some ideas of mine about "health care reform in the United States."", your positivity and support of newbies (like me) helps to encourage them to grow into valuable parts of the wikipedia community, instead of being short-tempered as several other experienced editors can be, which only discourages people from getting involved and making a contribution to this wonderful community. So thank you... I hope this is as good as a stupid jpeg of a militaristic medal ;) Deproduction (talk) 17:41, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lafayette Leake
Hi! I think I may have a few sources for the article - I have to run off and teach for a bit, but when I'm free again later I'll add some and see if they can help you to salvage it. :) - Bilby (talk) 23:42, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'd appreciate it. I need to go to bed (it's almost 1 am here) but I'll keep looking tomorrow too. I've seen far less promising subjects than this pass WP:N before now. -- Karenjc 23:49, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
-
- I agree - I don't think there will be any problems passing. Some of the refs look pretty good. :) - Bilby (talk) 23:55, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- I've added some refs - I have a couple of extra leads I can follow up on if needed, but I probably can't get access to them until after the AfD. I didn't mention his own music, such as Slow Leak, but there were a couple of references, so I suspect it can be added if needed. Unfortunately, I'm a tad ignorant when it comes to Blues. :) - Bilby (talk) 04:07, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

-
- I have nothing in book form I can get to easily (not a blues fan either!) but have trawled the net for the relatively small amount of biographical info available, and added it in with categories and stub tags. Two things, though. I found it asserted on two sites (eg here [1]) that his name was Ellis "Lafayette" Leake. Neither ref was sufficiently credible to cite in the article, but if you have published sources to hand, perhaps you could check to see if they mention this? Likewise it's stated in several places that he died in a diabetic coma, or of complications related to diabetes, but I can't confirm it sufficiently to include it.
- Thanks for your help in trying to save this article. I do think too many get blithely deleted (although I am someone who regularly tags new articles for CSD, usually nonsense, spam and non-notable bios). -- Karenjc 19:55, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- CSD is valuable work - I'd get more involved, but mostly I spend my time researching things. :) I've added a couple more refs on your new stuff, and found some support for other claims. I'm not sure about his name, but the coma I can can confirm, and I'll add that in when I can - he fell into a coma, but as he kept very much to himself he wasn't found for a couple of days and died in hospital. - Bilby (talk) 05:04, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wizard of Oz
Hi. I learned about the Tinman/snake substition in a presentation given by Dick Rutter in the year 2000, at the Wizard of Oz Centennial Convention that was held in Bloomington, Indiana, by the International Wizard of Oz Club. Rutter is an orthodonist and Oz enthusiast, who owns what very well may be the world's largest collection of international editions of the Wizard of Oz. He gave a slideshow presentation of books from his collection, including several books from Hindu countries, and reported the snake anecdote. I hope this information helps. --woggly (talk) 22:50, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
