Talk:Karlsson Spools

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I removed the proposal to delete this page. (Reason: not notable). My arguments for this are:

Hydraulics in general is an important and interesting subject.

Karlsson Spools is an interesting supplier of components (spools) that are used in hydraulic systems.

Manufacturing spools is very difficult since it involves extremely low tolerences and Karlsson Spools has created a unique manufacturing process to handle these tolerances. This process is explained in the text with links to various metods of working metal.

I also think that it is notable that a world leading company in its field is situated in a small, former mining town in the middle of Sweden..

It needs to have multiple references from reliable third party sources, for example newspapers or trade magazines which talk about these aspects. This is what asserts notability. Thanks, SeveroTC 09:52, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

It is very very hard to get multiple references like this on the net since this industry is a traditional one and the trade press is distributed in paper format. (This is one of the reasons that I think it important for a company like Karlsson Spools to exist on Wiki.) I will try to get as much references as I can but it will take some time. Severo, would it be possible to extend the time before the page is deleted so I can try to do this? Thanks Ministry99 (talk) 14:09, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

It's not my decision about deletion, but I won't be taking it to the Articles for deletion process as you seem keen to improve the article and hence Wikipedia :). The references don't have to be on line, if you can get citations from print magazines they're just as good. WP:CITE talks about how to write them out, but if you're not sure you can leave details on here and I'll help format them :) SeveroTC 14:29, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Working hard to track down references in printed form. Will add more soon. Ministry99 (talk) 15:44, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
