Talk:Karlberg Palace
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A castle in English is a defensive structure. Swedish palaces are often wrongly translated into "castles" in English; for instance, I get 1 730 google hits on "Stockholm Castle" which is an incorrect translation of "Stockholms slott". The correct term, Stockholm Palace, only gets a third as many google hits (647). Until someone can show the military importance of Karlbergs slott (which seems unlikely due to the location), I move the page to "Karlberg Palace". Indeed, many buildings that in Swedish is called "slott" are too small to be called "Palace", but I do think this one is slightly larger than a mansion. // habj 16:15, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
