it appears to me that there are inconsistancies... in one portion it mentions his dedication to communism and in his personal life it talkes about his dedication to marxism and his refusal of communism... one should be correct, not both Bbqturtle 14:17, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

It is completely consistent. He was a communist the whole time, but later in life he moved away from the Communist Party. One can remain a communist without being a member of the official Party. —Sesel 21:11, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
