Karyn Parsons (born October 8, 1968) is an American actress who is best known for her work as the dimwitted, self-centered Hilary Banks on the hit show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Parsons was born in Hollywood, California to a black mother, Louise H., and a white father, Kenneth B. Parsons.[2] She attended Santa Monica High School.[3]

Parsons is known for her role as Hilary Banks on the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which ran from 1990 to 1996. She co-created, co-produced and co-starred in the sitcom Lush Life in 1996, which only lasted four episodes before it was canceled. In 2001, she starred in the critically acclaimed but short-lived television series The Job with Denis Leary.
Besides television, Parsons has also starred in several films, particularly in comedies such as Class Act (1992), Major Payne (1995) and The Ladies Man (2000).
Parsons' current project is Sweet Blackberry, producing a line of DVD animated films about notable unsung black heroes. The first in the series is about Henry Box Brown, a slave who mailed himself to freedom[4].

Her first marriage was to Young and the Restless actor Randy Brooks. They divorced in the '90s. Parsons has been married to director Alexandre Rockwell since February 8, 2003. They have a daughter named Lana (born March 2003) and a son named Nico (born May 2007) [5] together.
