Karoliniškės

Karoliniškės is a microdistrict and elderate of Vilnius, Lithuania. The district was started to be built in year 1971, and because of its geographical location, became an important part of Vilnius city.

Karoliniškės covers about 4 km² area. There is about 1.015 km² of the slop area along the Neris River, and about 0.11 km² of a small forest, called "Pasakų parkas" ("The park of fairy-tales"). About 45 thousand people live in the elderate.

The highest building in Lithuania - the Vilnius TV Tower - is also situated in this district. Karoliniškės has been the main site of the January Events of 1991.
