Karmapa International Buddhist Institute (K.I.B.I.) is a school of higher learning based on the great treatises of Buddhism. Envisioned by His Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje and founded by His Holiness Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche, K.I.B.I. aims at furthering wisdom and compassion based on the interpretation of the lineage of the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.

K.I.B.I. belongs to the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje. His Holiness Thaye Dorje is the present head of the Karma Kagyu lineage.

Since 1990, the Institute has offered a 4-year-programme which is awarded as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Buddhist philosophy. Courses in Tibetan language are also available.

K.I.B.I. is located in the prestigious Qutab Institutional Area in New Delhi, India.
