Karma and Effect is the second album by the South African hard rock band Seether. It was released on May 24, 2005 by Wind-up Records. It is certified Platinum Worldwide going gold in the USA and Canada. Many consider the album to be the band's Magnum opus.

Upon release, the album debuted in the top 10 in many countries around the world, including America. The first single "Remedy" was one of the biggest hard rock songs of the year. Many fans claimed that the success of "Remedy" proved they could hold their own, against the fluke success of "Broken." Following singles "Truth," and "The Gift" also found success on hard rock radio.

[edit] Unreleased Songs

Before the release of Karma And Effect, a blog from the band on their website stated that there would be three b-side tracks for the album. They are: "Let Me Go", "Innocence", and "Blister". "Let Me Go" has been released and can be found on the "Remedy" single. "Innocence" and "Blister" were available on seether-online.com, but the site has since been down. It is speculated that the "Blister" and "Innocence" tracks can scarcely be found on the Karma & Effect album, but the chances of buying one with them included are slim--however, it is just speculation, proven by the fact that all that is circulation is poor-quality rips from the stream on seether-online.com

[edit] Trivia

  • The album's final track, "Interlude/Outro", is sung in Afrikaans. The song is called "Kom Saam Met My" which translates to "Come With Me".
  • The song title for "Burrito" was inspired from an Osbournes episode where Ozzy Osbourne has a craving for Burritos.
  • The song "Remedy" was used at WWE's Summerslam pay-per view in 2005.
