Karlstein am Main is a municipality in the district of Aschaffenburg in the German state of Bavaria. It was founded on July 1, 1975 and consists of the two villages Dettingen and Großwelzheim.
Dettingen am Main lies on the River Main, and on the railway between Frankfurt am Main and Aschaffenburg, 16 km northwest of Aschaffenburg. The Battle of Dettingen took place here.
