Karl Spring

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Karl (Howg) Spring was the chief meteorologist at KBJR-TV in Duluth, Minnesota. He started in March 2006 after former forecaster Sven Sundgaardleft the station for weekend weathercasting at KARE in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Prior to KBJR Karl was a meteorologist for KSTP-TV and chief meteorologist at WFTC (from 2001 until 2004), both in Minneapolis.

Karl moved from being on the air to behind the scenes at KBJR in April of 2008. Karl is now part of the ad-sales team, selling advertising time slots on KBJR, KDLH, Northland CW, My 9, and Weather Plus. Karl's reason for moving departments was for better pay, better hours, and more free time to spend with his family.

Karl is certified by the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. He and his wife Jeanne live in Duluth with their four children: Kal, Kacey, Karly and Gunnar.
