Karl Martens

Karl Martens (born July 12, 1989 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada) is a Semi-professional footballer with KV Mechelen, a first division team in Belgium. Martens has trained with the club for a few months. He has been stellar as a keeper for the club.
Prior to joining KV Mechelen, Martens served his duties to an amateur soccer club Hellas SC, where he was discovered by KV Mechelen. At only age 18, he played 10 games with a Goals Against Average of 0.8 a game.
Martens attended River East Collegiate, a High school in Winnipeg, from 2005-2008 completing all major credits before making the decision to jump to the big leagues. Karl Jakob Martens, son of Armin and Denise Martens, signed as a free agent with KV Mechelen in January, 2008.
