Karl Markovics

Karl Markovics (born August 29th, 1963 in Vienna) is an Austrian actor.
He played Salomon Sorowitsch (the leading role) in The Counterfeiters (2007), the movie that picked up the Oscar for best foreign language film of the year on February 24, 2008. Prior to that, his most notable appearances have been in the highly-acclaimed Austrian (Viennese) black comedy Komm Süßer Tod (2001) and in the police drama television series Inspector Rex. His character from Inspector Rex had his own spin-off series, Stockinger.
Markovics is married to actress Stephanie Taussig and has two children.
