Karl Francis

Karl Francis (born 1943) is a Welsh film and television director, producer and screenwriter, associated with far-left political causes.
Francis was born in Bedwas. His work is heavily influenced by the likes of Ken Loach and Mike Leigh, and has included output in both the English and Welsh languages. He is considered to be a minor figure in the social realist tradition.
Several of his films have been based on work by Dylan Thomas.
