Karl Anton Rickenbacher

Karl Anton Rickenbacher (born 20 May 1940) is a Swiss conductor. Born in Basel, he studied at the Stern conservatory before taking up rehearsal conducting roles in Zürich and Freiburg. He was music director of the Westphalian Symphony Orchestra from 1979 to 1985, concurrently holding a principal role with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra for three of those years, and most recently he was appointed principal guest conductor of the Belgian BRT Philharmonic Orchestra in 1987.
