Kariong is a locality of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, located to the west of Gosford along the Central Coast Highway. It is part of the City of Gosford local government area.
Kariong includes a considerable section of the Brisbane Water National Park to the south, and is also home to the Mount Penang Parklands, famous for native gardens, the holding of the annual Australian Springtime Flora Festival, and the new Central Coast Gateway Visitor Information Centre. Along with Somersby, Kariong is the considered the entry point to the Central Coast as it borders the Sydney Newcastle Freeway and it's the first major exit leading to the region.
Kariong contains a small light commercial hub, consisting of a medical centre, service station, video store, grocery store, chinese takeaway, real estate, bakery and tavern.
