Karigane Junichi
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Karigane Junichi (雁金準一; 1879-1959) was a Japanese professional go player. One of the strongest players of the first part of the twentieth century, and involved in 1926 in the most celebrated match and game of the period of unification of Japan, he had an ultimately unsuccessful career. His long-term rivalry with Tamura Yasuhisa, later Honinbo-Meijin under the name Shusai, left the latter holding all the aces.
